The intervention in the typically baroque chapel of the Casa do Menino de Deus in Barcelos was completed at the end of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall work focused on the altarpiece structures, pelmets, panelling, stucco, lambris and skirting boards. Specifically, the altarpieces and pelmets were chemically cleaned and the detached polychromes stabilised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stucco, lambris and skirting boards were treated at the support level (consolidation and filling) and the surface had to be cleaned and gaps filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Casa do Menino de Deus, whose history stems from an image of the Child Jesus the King, is a secular institution in Barcelos that dates back to the 18th century. It currently operates as a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, with a number of different services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
