The Signinum has restored the sculpture of the Holy Mothers, a late 18th-century piece that will leave the laboratory to be returned to the Santa Ana Chapel in Ribeirão, Famalicão, where it belongs.
Here, Saint Anne and the Virgin Mary are depicted sitting side by side. Saint Anne, the mother of Mary, holds fruit in her hands. The Virgin Mary holds the Baby Jesus in her lap. The three figures, symbols of the Catholic faith, stand on the heads of winged angels on a polychrome wooden base with a faux-marble finish.
The origins of the Chapel of Santa Ana date back to the 16th century. In 1873, the temple was rebuilt, acquiring its current appearance. The main façade is covered with tiles from the 19th and 20th centuries.
