The project involved the rehabilitation of the roofs and the treatment of the facade of the church's chancel, recently proposed for National Monument classification. The existing building, dating from the 17th century and with visible marks of interventions in later centuries, is part of the medieval monastic complex of Tibães, built in the late 11th century. Until its closure, when the Religious Orders were extinguished in 1834, it was one of the main Benedictine centers in the country and a major producer and diffuser of Portuguese culture, art, and education. The rehabilitation intervention carried out on a building as important as the Tibães Monastery required the close coordination of Signinum 's own specialized human capital, between rehabilitation and stone and mortar conservation teams.
